To this day when I drive through Jack in the Box I think to
myself ordering a large should be called jacking it up. You told me the one day
driving home from school, it wasn’t funny but it stuck with me and I don’t know
why. I really don’t remember much about growing up so its hard to do this and I
don’t know if all of my memories accurate or even real. When I'm sick or scared
the easiest way to calm me down and make me feel better is someone running
their fingertip gently across my back like you did when I was little and I
remember you use to call me peanut, but here is a shot at putting my jumbled
thoughts in order so you have something seemingly intelligible to read.
The public pool was a big deal in Roselle, one time we were
going to go but I was down the block at Anthony Armentanos house riding bikes
with him Rob and Sean White. We decided to race home to see who could get home
fastest because I guess that meant we made it to the pool a bit sooner.
Something happened and I flipped off my bike and skinned my toe or ripped a
bunch of skin off or something I don’t know what happened next but I'm betting
we didn’t make it to the pool, and I remember the time I was stung by 2 yellow
jackets because one was under my arm when I went to swing for the one on my
leg, put those two together and we have that time I was at the pool and stepped
on that dead bee and my foot swelled up so bad the security guard and my
girlfriend had to walk me home then you gave me a bunch of benadryl and we just
relaxed and watched tv.
I wanted to be on a B.A.U with the FBI, remember? I did all
those social science classes and thought I was a bonafide behavioral analyst
just like Giddian, that's from us relaxing and watching tv to. I remember
family dinners and its sad that that isn't a memory for a lot of people but I
love how it seems so common place for me. Pepper steak that I made just like
you use to one time because I had you on the phone with me the whole time I was
cooking it. Specific situations are hard to pick out of the blue without
something in front of me making me remember it, but the theme over all when I
look back trying to pull it all up is really two people who were and still are
there when I needed and continue to need them. One time I was sitting in
walmart with a cold and after consulting the pharmacist I still called you to
tell me what to buy because some medical training jack wont compare to doctor
mom. Any big decision I need to make (seemingly big or truly big) I dial my
parents because I learned time and time again as a kid that they are always
right, always.
I don’t remember brookfeild zoo, heck the most I remember
about zoo lights is that we went but rob told me that we use to go and for some
reason I remember the spray cheese. Garfield, the wind up toy in the back seat
of the car. I was making the same noise with it I make at my desk at work with
my wind up chatter teeth. You were so annoyed that you through it out the
window! The next part though I don’t know if you know, see it didn't just
magically appear on your pillow the next day, me and rob got on our bikes and
went and picked it up and I thought it would be hilarious if we hid it on your
pillow to freak you out, I bet it did to. The wind up clock from beauty and the
beast that fell into the van and was never seen or heard from again, who's
memory is that?
California something to do with a gardener and a banana. I
skateboarded all the way to carls jr with Jim in Cali for a burger and there
was a sign on the door saying “sorry we no open” I was super mad. That army man
crawl Jim did at the pound that made both of us decide he was the one. I'm
trying to rapid fire remember and just keep thinking you guys rock. Did me and
rob freak anna out one night by burning jeepers creepers to a cd and playing it
on a boombox outside her bedroom window? We were cool. The cb base station I
had set up in the shed by the pool that I thought I was running a pirate radio
station off of because I didn’t understand how radio worked. I don’t know. I
hope we can keep adding to this as time goes on and memories come to us and new
ones are created. You guys rock.
